The International Scout House is included in
the programme "Europe for You" organised by the European Bureau. It belongs to the 61st Santa Maria dos Olivais Group of the
"Corpo Nacional de Escutas", its aim being to welcome scouts and guides from all over the world who visit Lisbon and want
to get to know the region better.
Located in a prime area of the capital with easy access,
the Scout House is a meeting and starting point for numerous trails of discovery and activity.
Several shops are located close by, including supermarkets,
a baker’s and shopping center. A private hospital is situated 300 metres away, with chemists and health clinics nearby.
The atmosphere at the headquarters of Group 61 is a family
one where scouts can socialise, chat and exchange stories and experience.
Visitors can enjoy a range of cultural, scientific,
sports and leisure activities.
Served by a vaste transport network (buses, trains and underground),
access to any part of the city and its surroundings couldn’t be simpler.
With visits to the historie centre of the city, museums,
monuments, cultural exhibitions and shows, trips along the river Tagus, visits to the largest oceanarium in Europe, nature
activities, beaches, the municipal sports complex and its swimming pool, the only problem is finding time to do everything!
Upon request, the Centre can provide guides to accompany
visitors. Beasides information of a general nature provided by staff, the Centre also has support documentation.
The international Scout House can provide accommodation
for up 15 people in a mixed dormitory with bunk beds, although on special occasions can sleep up to 50 people in a large room
The centre also has:
Two bathrooms (male and female), with two hot showers per
Kitchen, equipped with cooker, freezer, washing machine
and utensils ;
Social room with bar, satellite television and games ;
Multipurpose room for training courses when requested.
Use of Scout House involve a cost.
The attached form should be filled in and sent to
the Centre at least 20 days notice. On arrival at the Centre, scouts must present a presentation letter from their Group and
their International Scout Card.
- National Scouts and Guides = 2,5 EUROS
- Foreign Scouts = 5 EUROS
- Non-Scouts = 7,5 EUROS
-For Groups that only wish to use the multi-purpose room,
charges are as follows:
- With teaching material = 40 EUROS
- Without teaching material = 30 EUROS
- these prices include the use of all the infrastructures
referred to above.
How to reach us
The International Scout House is located 500
metres from the modern Oriente railway station (with road and rail links to the city and country), 750 metres from the eastern
doks and one kilometre from Lisbon airport.
If you are coming to Lisbon by road, the A1 North, A2 South,
A6 Elvas or Vasco da Gama bridge routes, follow the signs to the airport (north Lisbon), then drive down the Avenida de Berlim
avenue until you reach Praç a Baden-Powell.
